Kissimmee Florida: A Guide to the Top Attractions and Activities

Kissimmee, Florida is a city located in Osceola County, just south of Orlando. It is a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to major theme parks such as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld.

I really love Kissimmee. First time I visited this quaint town was on our first trip to Walt Disney World. We actually stayed in Kissimmee because it was much less expensive for us.

As a young family with no back-up after moving to Florida, we did a lot of road trips and camping. On our first visit to Magic Kingdom, we were able to stay in a mini suite in Kissimmee that was like 75% less than a Disney resort.

All the benefits but definitely less expensive. In addition to the theme parks, you can enjoy a variety of activities in Kissimmee, including shopping, dining, outdoor recreation, and entertainment.

Of course one of the main draws of Kissimmee is its theme parks. Walt Disney World, one of the most popular theme parks in the world, is located just a few miles north of the city.

Universal Studios and SeaWorld are also nearby, making Kissimmee an ideal location for families and thrill-seekers alike.

In addition to theme parks, Kissimmee offers a variety of other attractions, including Old Town, a shopping and entertainment complex, Gatorland, a wildlife preserve and NASA.

First Kissimmee is more laid-back. More relaxed atmosphere compared to the hustle and bustle of Orlando.

Yes Orlando is known for its theme parks and tourist attractions, but Kissimmee offers a more peaceful and serene environment. Here you can enjoy the natural beauty of the area, including the nearby Everglades headwaters and Lake Tohopekaliga.

Also, as I mentioned above, Kissimmee is significantly more affordable than Orlando. The cost of accommodations, dining, and entertainment is generally lower in Kissimmee than in Orlando.

Kissimmee is just a short drive away from Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld. This makes it easy to enjoy these attractions during the day and then return to the peacefulness of Kissimmee at night.
