The shipwreck in Lauderdale By The Sea is a 1970s-era steel ship that was intentionally sunk in 1985 to create an artificial reef.

Today it is a popular diving site for scuba divers as well as a great snorkeling site, with a variety of marine life living in and around the wreck.
