One of my favorite things to do whenever I travel is to try new foods and cocktails. Even more so? When I am sitting outdoors with amazing ocean views. Is there anything better?

If you are looking for the best rooftop restaurants in Tampa, St. Petersburg or Clearwater Beach you are in the right place. This is the first of many articles that will provide information on the perfect setting for you to enjoy dinner and happy hour in your favorite beach towns not only in Florida but all over as I travel.

Tampa is one of the larger cities on Florida’s Gulf of Mexico. Spectacular views and an ever-growing cityscape to enjoy. With St. Pete Beach and the entire Tampa Bay area short drives away, there are several fantastic rooftop restaurants for you to enjoy.

Be sure not to include downtown St. Pete when you visit. It is truly the perfect place to enjoy a fun night on the town.

Whether you are looking for craft cocktails, craft beers, or light bites to split and enjoy, you will find something perfect for you.

Let’s start with Tampa as we take a look at some of the newest rooftop bars and restaurants that are open.

Best rooftop restaurants in Tampa and Tampa Bay

If you’re looking for the best views of Tampa, there’s no better place to do that than to be than one of the city’s rooftop restaurants.

From high-end dining to casual eats, these eateries offer stunning views of the waterfront or downtown skyline. And with the warm Florida weather, they’re perfect for al fresco dining year-round.

A great place to start is Sal Y Mar. I have been to this rooftop restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The service was wonderful on our visit and the food was absolutely fantastic.

The view! The view from the rooftop was out of this world. Whether you are looking for a place to begin your night out or to finish a romantic evening, this rooftop lounge delivers.

If you prefer Spanish tapas and small plates, this is the place for you! This Tampa rooftop bar is absolutely worth a visit. It is located at 3650 Midtown Dr Tampa, FL 33607

Next on the list in Tampa is Luna Lounge. Luna Lounge is located at 930 S Howard Ave, Tampa, FL 33606 on the 5th level of the Morrison Building.

Enjoy beautiful views of downtown Tampa skyline while sipping delicious cocktails or made-to-order sangria.

Hungry? You’re in luck. Luna Lounge is a bulla gastrobar that offers tuna tartare, meat and cheese tablas (similar to a charcuterie) and more.

Love Luna Lounge so much you want to host an event there? This is one of the nicest event spaces in Tampa for parties, weddings, graduations and more.

M. Bird with it’s deco-inspired lounge rooftop destination is considered by many to be Tampa’s premier rooftop destination.

Beautiful waterfront views, delicious tropical cocktails and small plates that can be shared make this rooftop experience perfect for date night.

Best rooftop restaurants in St. Pete

Let’s talk about St. Pete starting with Hotel Zamora. This beautiful hotel overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico.

The 360 degree Rooftop Lounge is on our list of the best rooftop bars. You will see why when you get a glimpse of the panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Right now you can enjoy Happy Hour daily and longer hours Friday and Saturday as they stay open until 11. There is also a pool bar located in the hotel.

Armature Works in St. Pete should also be on your list. This is located in 22,000 square feet of fully restored industrial space that was previously a former barn that stored streetcars.

This is truly a unique space. On the roof, you will find more event space with waterfront views of the Hillsborough River and Downtown Tampa.

Not sure what to eat? No worries! There are several restaurants with a full menu for you to choose your lunch or dinner from.

Next on the list is Pier Teaki or teak at Pier Point. It is located on top of The Pier in St. Petersburg, the current hotel.

Panoramic views and delicious food ensures a good time. Tropical decor, live music as well as delicious meals. In the mood for a tropical cocktail? You will find them here!

Enjoy comfy seating and view of Tampa Bay and the St. Pete Pier. Matter of fact, Pier Teaki is located as far into Tampa Bay as you can get right now.

Whether you want to enjoy small bites of a lot of different food or prefer a more filling meal, you can get it here. You can also get delicious tropical drinks at this funky rooftop bar with beautiful panoramic views.

At night, you can enjoy a great view of the St. Pete skyline from a seat at the tiki bar or any of their comfy lounge seating areas. Dress code is casual.

And finishing with Birchwood Canopy in St. Pete with stunning views of Tampa Bay, Straub Park, Beach Drive and the downtown St. Pete skyline.

This beautiful open-air rooftop bar features private cabanas with comfy sofas. Chilly? They provide fire pits for you to cozy up with your date if the evening turns cool.
