How To Make A Refreshing Lemon Drop Cocktail

Not sure how you feel about lemons, but for me, they always signal summer. That is why this lemon drop cocktail recipe is one of my summer favorites!

It is very refreshing. A bit tart yet a bit sweet. The perfect balance for a lemon cocktail.

I like to serve this one on hot summer days when we are either at the beach or on the back porch poolside. Simple. Delicious. And easy.

Lemon Drop Cocktail Ingredients

1 shot Vodka (I prefer Grey Goose and keep it in my freezer)

1/2 ounce or 1/3 shot Triple Sec

1 teaspoon very fine sugar

3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice. Fresh really makes a difference.

Ice cubes, lemon rind, and fine sugar for the rim of your cocktail glass.

How To Make A Lemon Drop Cocktail

I try very hard to keep these recipes simple for you. That said, if you have time, place your martini or cocktail glasses in the freezer roughly 15 minutes before you plan to make cocktails.

If you do not have the time, skip that step. Grab a cocktail shaker and add all ingredients except for the lemon rind and fine sugar you hold back for to use on your glass.

Add about 6 ice cubes to your shaker cup and shake it up. Dance a round a bit and have fun.

Don’t pour into your cocktail glass yet. Use the lemon rind to rub along the rim of your glass. Then place the rim in a plate that has the fine sugar to coat the rim completely.

Place the strainer on top of your shake cup and pour into your glasses. Add a slice of lemon as garnish and enjoy! Salute!
