Tequila Martini Or Mexican Tequila Martini Recipe
What were your first thoughts reading that article title? Did you think that you never heard of a Tequila Martini, often called a Mexican Tequila Martini before? You would not be alone in thinking that.
Our first thoughts when it comes to martinis are Vodka martinis or Gin martinis. But we would be really depriving ourselves by not trying a tequila martini.
Not sure about you, but my body reacts much better to tequila than it does vodka. And gin? I stay away from one as it smells perfumey to me.
I am simply a tequila girl and love this tequila martini. If you prefer tequila as well, the following recipe is for you. Give it a try, then message me and let me know how you liked. Ready? Let’s make a Mexican Tequila Martini!

Ingredients For A Tequila Martini
You know the drill. Let’s grab all the ingredients we need:
1 shot (1-½ ounces) white or Blanco Tequila (I prefer Patron Silver)
1 ounce Cointreau
1/2 shot (3/4 ounce) fresh lime juice
1/4 ounce Vermouth
Margarita or Kosher salt, for the rim
Lime wedge and olive
How To Make A Mexican Martini
This cocktail is great for Cinco de Mayo for those that prefer a martini over a margarita. The beginning is the same however, as you do put salt on the rim of your martini glass like you would on a margarita glass.
Cut the lime into wedges. Take a wedge and run along the rim of your martini glass. Then press the rim into a plate of margarita or kosher salt to line. Set glass to the side.
Next, pull out your cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Then add all the ingredients except for the lime wedge and olive. Shake, shake, shake!
Strain into the martini glass you line with salt in step one. Use another lime wedge and an olive as garnish. Enjoy!
And that is it. Pretty easy right? Tell me how you like below in the comments. Salute!
