How To Make An Espresso Martini
Does not seem to matter what you read or watch, the espresso martini is always in the mix. For good reason too. It’s delicious!
But what do you do when you are not on vacation or out for a special night and want one? You make it at home.
The whole goal of the Beach Cocktails, I write about every week, is to show you how easy it is to make these drinks at home. Great way to transport you instantly to your last beach vacation.
This is in line with that. To make an espresso martini, you only need a few ingredients.

I do stay away from added sugar as much as I can. If you need this a bit sweeter, you can add simply syrup to the cocktail to taste.
Everything can be tweaked. Late at night? Opt for decaf coffee. Want your martini more dessert like? Add chocolate shavings to the top.
Ready to make an Espresso Martini? Great! Let’s go.
Espresso Martini Ingredients
As you’ve probably noticed, I pull all my ingredients first. This goes back to my bartending days, with everything you could possibly need to make a cocktail nearby.
For today’s martini, you will need:
2 ounces Vodka. My preference is a top shelf Vodka like Titos or Grey Goose. Use your favorite.
1/2 ounce Kahlua (or other coffee liquor)
1 ounce espresso or strong coffee
Simply syrup to taste if desired.
Cocktail Directions
Ready to put it all together? Let’s do it!
First brew your coffee or make your espresso. Whichever you prefer. Espresso for me. Set it to the side to cool.
Add ice as well as all ingredients above, including the cooled espresso, to a shaker cup. Shake, shake, shake until the foam is on top.
Pour into a martini glass quickly so that the foam rises to the top. Add a few roasted coffee beans or even chocolate covered coffee beans to the top of your cocktail.
And that is it. I promise to always give you easy to make beach cocktails no matter if you are at home or away. Salute!
