Holly Jolly Cranberry Margarita Ingredients
First the ingredients. I generally use Patron as well as using Grand Marnier for the orange liquor. I find it is a bit sweeter than Triple Sec or Cointreau. The choice is always yours.
- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- 1/2 oz triple sec or orange liqueur
- Cranberries and lime slices for garnish
- Salt or sugar for rimming. I prefer salt for this one.
Holly Jolly Cranberry Margarita Instructions
Ready? This is a super easy cocktail to make.
Prepare the Glass: Pour the salt or sugar onto a small plate. Rim a margarita or a rocks glass with salt or sugar by running a lime wedge around the rim. Dip the rim of it into the plate of salt or sugar.
Mix the Drink: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, cranberry juice, and triple sec.
Shake It Up: Shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds until well chilled.
Serve: Strain the mixture into the margarita or rocks glass you rimmed, filled with ice.
Garnish: Drop a few cranberries into the drink and add a lime slice to the rim for a festive touch. Red and green are the holiday colors!
Why No Simple Syrup?
You might wonder why there’s no simple syrup in this recipe. I honestly do not use simply syrup very often.
It makes the process so much easier. It also allows the sweetness of the cranberry juice to shine.
Even better? It’s a tad healthier and there is no change to how this Holly Jolly Margarita tastes.
The Festive Flavors
The Holly Jolly Cranberry Margarita marries the boldness of tequila with the tangy cranberry juice, while the hint of citrus from fresh lime and orange liqueur adds a delightful twist.
The visually striking crimson hue of the drink adorned with cranberries and lime slices makes it a stunning addition to any holiday gathering.
This is a fantastic cocktail to serve with appetizers like cheese platters, hors d’oeuvres or even alongside a classic holiday roast. Its bright flavors and color adds to the celebratory vibe.
This holiday season, whip up a batch of Holly Jolly Cranberry Margaritas and raise your glasses in the spirit of joy, merriment, and unforgettable moments with loved ones.
Cheers to a holly jolly celebration! Salute!
