The cost of the permit varies depending on if you are a resident or non-resident. Cost also depends on the length of time, (days), you wish to drive on the beach.
You can purchase a day pass and be on the beach at one of the access points in minutes. It is important to display the permit on your vehicle at all times while driving on the beach.
Annual and daily beach passes will be available for purchase at toll booth locations at certain beach access points. Purchases made at toll booths are currently cash only.
If passes are lost or misplaced, a new pass must be purchased. Vehicular access is dependent on beach conditions, and all sales are final.
As of this writing, the following are beach access points located in St. Johns County:

- Vilano (temporarily closed)
- Porpoise Point
- A Street
- Ocean Trace Road
- Dondanville Road
- Matanzas Avenue
- Mary Street
- Crescent Beach (Cubbedge Road)
- Fort Matanzas (exit only ramp)
