Warmest Beaches In Florida In March For A Spring Escape
Thinking about a spring escape? You will find some of the warmest beaches in Florida in March for a fun getaway.
I have listed those below, but in general south of Orlando in March is quite nice, including my top recommendation of Key West in the Florida Keys.
Before I get really rolling on writing this article for you, I want to mention that warm is relative. My February article listing the warmest beaches in Florida included St. Augustine, for which I received a comment that it is not warm.
To that, I say wrong. I am literally in St. Augustine and surrounding areas on the Atlantic Coast at least 5 to 6 times a year.

70 degrees F may not be warm to a local that lives in St. Augustine, but that is warm for someone that lives in the Northeast or Midwest portions of the country.
Even for me, one that lives in North Central Florida, 70 degrees is a nice temp to be out and about. I will absolutely take that over the 40s and 50s as highs we get in the area of the state I live in.
Now that we have that clarified, welcome to Florida, where March brings forth the promise of sun-warmed days and balmy nights. March is a wonderful time to explore the coastlines of the Sunshine State.
As winter says farewell and spring nudges its way in, Florida’s beaches transform into sunshine warmth and relaxation.
Top Picks For Warmest Beaches In Florida In March
As I briefly mentioned above, any city or beach town South of Orlando will be your best options for a warm beach vacation. That is NOT to say, though, that the Northeast and Panhandle portions of the state will not be warm at that time.
As one who absolutely loves the Panhandle, I have been on vacation in Panama City Beach in February when the temps were 75 and above.
The beaches below are the top recommendations for this Spring month:
Clearwater: Nestled along the Gulf Coast, Clearwater Beach emerges as a prime destination in March. With temperatures averaging between 75-80°F (24-27°C), this stretch of coastline boasts powdery-white sands and crystal-clear waters.
Stroll along the shore, bask in the sun’s glow, or embrace the vibrant atmosphere at Pier 60, where the daily sunset celebrations cast a magical spell. Also visit nearby St. Pete Beach, Tampa Bay as well as Treasure Island.
Orlando to Daytona Beach: While Orlando may lack direct coastline, it serves as a gateway to Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach, both just a short drive away.
March temperatures hover in the delightful range of 75-80°F (24-27°C). Once you arrive in Daytona or New Smyrna Beaches, be sure to enjoy the sandy beaches ideal for sunbathing or maybe head into the water to snorkel or swim.
Miami and the Florida Keys: Venturing further south, Miami, with its celebrity vibe also has some of the most stunning beaches in the state.
March here means temperatures often above 80°F (27°C), creating a haven for beach enthusiasts. Visit nearby Hollywood Beach as well as Fort Lauderdale.
Finally, the Florida Keys enchants us with its unique charm and year round warm climate. Key West is the warmest destination in Florida for a getaway in the spring.
In this fun town, enjoy temperatures averaging 77-80°F (25-27°C) throughout March, inviting visitors to indulge in its laid-back island lifestyle.
