Practical Magic Midnight Margaritas
Not sure about you, but I am SO excited that they are doing a Practical Magic 2 Movie. My daughters and I are planning a movie night with Midnight Margaritas!
Practical Magic is one of my all-time favorite movies. Right up there with Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing. Not sure what it is about these movies, but I can literally watch them over and over.
Since we are planning on enjoying a Midnight Margarita or three, I thought what a great cocktail for Friday. I am actually giving you two different versions.
You may ask why, and the reason is, one is basically a simple margarita. The other one is perfect during fall, especially Halloween.

Ready to get started? The first recipe will be the basic margarita while the second one adds a bit of mystique. Let’s do this!
Practical Magic Midnight Margaritas Ingredients
First, pull out the following ingredients to get ready. This recipe does make four margaritas, which matches the movie!
Ingredients
6 oz Tequila Note: I prefer Patron Silver or Casamigos Blanco. Use your favorite.
2 oz Triple Sec. Note: I use Cointreau.
4 Limes + 4 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
Margarita salt
Midnight Margaritas Recipe
Very easy. First squeeze your lime juice from the limes. Cut the remaining limes into slices.
Note: If you roll the limes around in the palms of your hands or on the counter top, it will release more lime juice.
Take a lime slice and run it around the rim of the margarita glasses, then place the rim into the margarita salt and set aside.
Now you need to make a choice. Shaken or frozen? Since I’m writing this during a hot summer day, it is frozen all the way for me.
Place the tequila, Triple Sec/Cointreau, and fresh squeezed lime juice in a blender with ice and blend.
Pour into your salted margarita glasses, garnish with a lime slice and enjoy!
Practical Magic Midnight Margaritas Halloween Version
To color this margarita and make it perfect for Halloween, you only need to add one ingredient. You may be thinking, only one? That’s right one.
6 ounce Raspberry Liquor. I prefer Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur.
This one ingredient changes the whole look of the margarita. Note: because you are adding without deducting any ingredient, you may need a larger glass OR serve 5.
And there you have it! I try to keep all my cocktail recipes simple and delicious. Enjoy your margaritas. Salute!
