Couple things I want to talk to you about today but first wanted to remind you to be proud of who you are TODAY. Forget about yesterday. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Focus on right now – the present. This has been a challenge for me and one that I’ve been working on for almost 30 days now and I’m getting better. If I can do it so can you because I’m your typical high-strung type A personality. Focus on the present.
I’m happy with who I am. I’m not a skinny Minnie as you all know – you can see me in this video. I’m 53 now and I have never been what you would call skinny. Always on the curvy side and I like my curves thank you very much. I’m healthy and as I continue my fitness journey, I’m getting stronger and leaner. My BP stays around 110/70. I have a 5K on Saturday – my first in over a month because my heels have been a mess. Coach Becky tied them with the heel lock lacing – if you have any heel pain, find this video because it helped me tremendously. I ran for the first time yesterday and today my heels feel pretty good so hoping I’ll get through Saturday.
If you are also curvy or plus size, focus on how you FEEL. Don’t worry about getting on the scale everyday. Redirect your attention to how you feel, how your body feels, that you’re getting stronger every day. Just keep moving forward on YOUR journey. Also if your body is giving you signals that it needs some time off, give it the time off. Our bodies are AMAZING but many times we push a little too hard. That’s why it’s important to have rest days during the week.
Remember, we are all on our own journey. I’m on mine. You’re on yours. Our friends are on their journeys. Don’t rush the process. Just keep moving forward every day and you’ll get there. Promise.
