Let’s talk about rosemary essential oil!
I’ll be honest! The more I learn about essential oils the more I love essential oils. You know that saying hindsight is 20/20? Well let me say I would be the first one in line for a do-over if it were possible. We all know it’s not so I say better late to the party than never show up. Now let’s talk about rosemary essential oil.
Rosemary essential oil is truly one of the my favorites and I always have on hand. Rosemary is one of my favorite smells since my husband brought home a rosemary “tree” a few years back around Christmas. To me the smell is soothing which is why it’s one of my favorite oils to use.
The rosemary shrub is a perennial which means it stays green year-round. Mine lasted several years here in North Central Florida until it became too hot. I was sad when I lost it because it truly was beautiful in addition to smelling amazing.
The shrub has needle like “leaves” from which the oil is harvested by steam distilling. Steam distillation is when water and steam are pushed around the rosemary shrub so the essential oils can be drawn from the plant.
Rosemary essential oil is part of the mint family, native to the Mediterranean and has a bluish flower. In addition to being a fantastic flavor enhancer on potatoes or lamb chops and grilled chicken, rosemary essential oil may be diffused for a calming woodsy aroma or applied topically (to the skin) for cleansing or to shampoo for healthier looking hair.
Top benefits of rosemary oil:
- Healthier looking hair when added to shampoo or conditioner.
- Diffuse rosemary oil to freshen the air with a beautiful woodsy scent.
- As a dietary supplement, rosemary vitality oil helps maintain a sense of well-being.
- Combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and Rosemary Vitality for a bread dip that beats any Italian restaurant hands-down in flavor.
